The Poet in me prefers to speak
of things you can understand;
I like to write of simple things
that touch the common man.
Like the beauty of the sky at night,
the innocence of a child,
the fragrance of a fresh cut rose,
the sweetness of a smile.
The wonder that I often feel
when I think of my Father above,
for of all the gifts He's given me,
treasured most, His eternal love.
