Under the gentle glow of the harvest moon
Autumn's golden jewels emerge to amaze us
with their wonderful beauty and charm.
Deep orange Jack -O- Lanterns merrily
blaze into the wee hours of the night,
fiery red leaves wave from the trees,
golden brown fields bend and bow to us.
Deep yellow ears of corn shake their heads
in a cheery hello as they keep watch over
the land while the eerie howls of the wolves
resound across plains to give us a wonderful fright.
Creeping things slither beneath the bushes,
bats fly round the belfry and witches chant
their incantations while black cats dance
to their harmonious words.
Ghosts and gremlins peek from behind headstones
waiting to give us a cheerful scare as fog
gently flows across the dark night.
How wonderful is the arrival of this glorious
time when the wondrous paint brush of Autumn
gently colors our world with happiness and joy.
