One Month to Live

If I knew my life would end in thirty days
Jesus would still receive glory and praise
Desiring to please Him in everything I do
Through love, He gave His life for me too

Freely give away my books of poetry
As a tool to share with many His story
Death for all mankind will take its toll
Only Jesus saves and makes man whole

Lord, help me live for each moment now
Knowing that life is so uncertain anyhow
Through a traffic accident on the streets
My life could end with one last heart beat

Thank You my life is not by how I perform
Only Your Spirit can change and conform
Freedom comes through that realization
By allowing Your Spirit His intervention

Even if I fall prey to the same temptation
Sin remains covered by Your redemption
My relationship is restored when I confess
But You will never love me more or less

Peace comes in my heart when I let it go
By surrendering to You, my faith grows
Teach me, Lord, to trust You even more
Anticipating whatever You have in store

Your Word brings to my soul freshness
As I humbly come into Your presence
I would be foolish to go my own way
Only Your Spirit sustains me each day
