History's Loop
A house with character has many replays
With longing I embrace those bygone days
Placed in the memoir of gentle backgrounds
Let my roots find solace in the golden sounds
Gold limned clouds once covered the sky
Lightning bug lanterns sparkled nearby
Gentleness of rain in the midnight hour
The tinkle down dawn in a thunder shower
Running through the clover, with eagle's wings
Between frames of childhood's innocent things
In a flurry of fireflies 'neath a sable sky
Feel of lush grass, warm night in July
Patterns of things have started to flee
History's loops play games with me
Yesteryear covers all in its blanket of sand
While I draw images with yesterday's hand
