From The 'Jenny Book Of Dreams'
The cloud I placed on gentle wind, watched it languidly ascend,
Join its brethren on parade toward eastern skies where Jenny stayed
In summertime with parents dear 'neath sun's crystal chandelier.
The journey long, it would take days to reach where my Jenny stays.....
Within amorphous droplets were...sweet words I would say to her
Upon arriving at Jenny's place where she oft dressed in frilly lace,
And I could close my eyes and see her there, so delicate and so fair
Deciphering the falling mist and marking each that held a kiss.....
Four hundred miles as crow flies from western into eastern skies
Scudding across a stormy sea where waterspouts dance playfully
Should I quake in dire despair for fear of storminess gathered there?
What for me would that fear do but take my thoughts away from you?
I paid through dues to Satan's purse as life went from bad to worse
Until sunlight, breaking through the sky, sent Satan on the fly!
Silently steal forth my thoughts wondering what God hath wrought
In allowing me my Jenny to satisfy, as I breathe a silent sigh.....
