Love for Her Beloved
Under the pear tree I awoke,
And I looked at you as you spoke;
For your mother went into labor,
In giving a new birth therefore.
A signet ring worn on your heart,
Like the one that I will not part;
On my finger upon my hand,
As the way the Lord did command.
For it is the power of this love,
Overpowers death from above;
Devotion as true as the grave,
As one with sin that is a slave.
Flames of love are flames of fire,
That burn with a true desire;
Flames that are coming from the Lord,
If having sin they are ignored.
But the water cannot wash away,
The person that has gone astray;
And cannot extinguish the love,
That is from Jesus Christ thereof.
As the new born feeds from the breast,
The mother has a chance to rest;
A Savior comes into this world,
As the plan of God is unfurled.
