 Diamond Dust Dreams

Soft the gentle eiderdown upon which I lay my head
Sweet the thought of dropping off to deepened rest
All swirling troubling images by now have quietly fled
Leaving me to drift into the world I love the best....

Proserpina, Persephone oft-times come to greet me
Rising up from ocean deep like river naiads playing
They swim the oceans of my dreams and meet me
Where my deepest most restful moods are staying....

Pensive nocturnals send forth melodious masterpieces
Barely audible as if far away beyond all time and space
Then as their tinkling symphonic sound sinks and ceases
My mind settles into its most special, favorite place....

Morpheus in his kindness sprinkles diamond dust of sleep
That I inhale in deep breaths seeming sonorous to my ears
Coolness of dampened night air into my room does creep
As I sink into a mirrored world reflecting all my years.....

Diamond dust shimmering, as from Heaven's door it looms
Having been swept from the corners of Heaven's floor
Where it gathers as would spiderwebs in vacant rooms
Then is swirled away by wayward winds to be seen no more....
