The Passion of Christ
Christ had borne our griefs,
For hanging on the cross;
And making our beliefs,
Through His enduring loss.
He took our sorrows,
Since we all strayed like sheep;
So we have tomorrows,
Able to better sleep.
But crushed for our sin,
And the rebellious deeds;
That corrupts us within,
Breaking all of the creeds.
Being led like a lamb,
Preparing to butcher;
A court that was a sham,
That had left no future.
A sheep that was silent,
And did not make a sound;
As it turned violent,
False testimony found.
Christ never spoke a lie,
But punished anyway;
And Jesus had to die,
Because we went astray.
