Vision

Drenched and diminutive
I reach to cleanse your soul
I somehow must take you with me
With no sense of control.

Gray skies that never move
Brown leaves that grace the trail
No secret to success for me
Yet no way can I fail.

Security that holds my hand
Embrace me, as I shake
A young girl once, with none of this
And everything at stake.

Clinging to a passer by,
Trading him her spirit
Just to listen when she'd cry
Danger, never feared it.

For the golden blinds were hanging low,
They would not let her see.
The face that hid beneath the charm
To decide her destiny.

Determined for destruction
Labeled to be lost
Cast aside and abandoned
One day to pay the cost.

Illumination transcending,
I lower to my knees.
The blinds have now been lifted.
And suddenly, I see.
