The Din memory or thought colliding in sleep
mixed up beyond recognition
did she really pull the dog's tail off?
reaching out the window into puffy clouds
cotton candy at the fair melting
my tongue a sticky pink confection
raindrops fall on thirsty pavement
rinsing poisons into the undrinkable water
leaving us thirsty for another hour
the rainbow fish dart away quickly
avoiding the deadly wash of human sin
gasoline soaked ambitions clog the air with money
voices in a din of religious arguments
thinking god is with them in all they profess in his name
when they have no idea what god is or isn't
they should all be afraid
I slip away until I can't hear them anymore
a single heartbeat bangs the drum
I keep walking
