~*~^~*~
I take refuge at the feet of the beautiful mother Kalika,
the wife of Lord Shiva whose eyes are the sun, moon and fire,
who dwells in the forest of dazzling lotuses (galaxies)
who shines like a cluster of freshly formed dark clouds,
whose hips excel the lofty mountains,
who is attended by heavenly damsels,
who has eyes like freshly bloomed blue lotuses and
who is dark in color like a freshly formed blue black cloud;
~*~
I take refuge at the feet of the beautiful mother Kalika,
the wife of Lord Shiva the three eyed one
(representing wakeful, dreaming and sleeping states)
who dwells in the forest of dazzling lotuses (galaxies),
holding a golden lute, adorned with necklaces of constellations,
whose face is full of bliss due to nectar,
who blesses love and fame through Her radiant glances;
~*~
She who dwells in the forest of the lightening trees,
with garlands of stars shining upon her bosom,
whose breasts are like high golden mountains,
who sports in the lakes of light and penance groves of Lord
and whose cheeks are reddened due to inebriation,
and who is abode of sweet songs and sweet talk,
by such an intensely blue splendorous goddess
playfully we are always protected;
~*~
I take refuge in the mother Kalika, the wife of Lord Shiva
the three eyed one (who sees past, present and future)
dwells in the midst of a forest of the lightenings,
oft’ envisioned in the splendorous disk of Sun,
who dwells in my heart’s lotus in a subtle form
like a flash of lightning with hues of shining
hibiscus flowers and glittering blue lotuses wearing
a crest jewel of crescent moon;
~*~
Between whose breasts there is an adorable golden lute
with the sound of sweet music, who is adorned
with curls of hair, who resides in a thousand
petalled lotus, who could never be viewed by sinners
and lusty demons, whose eyes are reddened by wine,
who is enamored of the Lord,who is the daughter
of Daksha, the father of constellations,
in this sweet talking mother Kalika, I am taking refuge;
~*~
She who bears the first flush of the flower,
who wears a blue garment of the infinite skies,
who holds a bowl of honey of the spring, whose
eyes are reddened with inebriation,
whose bosom is elevated by firm breasts,
the blackest one with her disheveled hair,
in this mother of love,the spouse of the three eyed Lord,
I take refuge as I pray for peace and happiness to all;
~*~
She who is anointed by the dawn with pastes of vermilion,
whose curly hair anointed with musk by the Goddess of night,
who wears a soft smile, who holds the bow, noose, goad, etc.,
and who fascinates the minds of people,
whose garment is decorated with patterns of blazing flowers,
who shines with garlands of hibiscus and heavenly lotuses,
on this Mother of bliss I meditate at the time of Sun rise!
~*~
I worship mother Kalika the embodiment of cosmic energy
and the spouse of Lord Shiva the three eyed one,
whose hairs are done by her chamber maid Diana,
who is the chaste wife of Lord Shiva, engaged in various talks
with Athena, the goddess of divine wisdom, who is adorned
with jewels by the goddesses like Indrani and Lakshmi and
who is served by countless celestial damsels.
