VANISHING MEMORIES

Who remembers a day in summer?
When the wind blows in November
Who remembers first love?
When forty years have past
For the memory best is the last!
And when does that memory fade away?
In the forgotten name of a love long ago
Who could forget a kiss in passion?
That in two hearts would forever last
Not I nor will I ever forget
For if they are but vanishing memories
Hidden in the plunder of a broken heart
Reality is that life must go on
But vanishing memories last forever
Until one day in shadowed time we meet again
In my heart I hold to vanishing memories
