The Question of Liberty
Am I free to do all things?
Enjoy the pleasure it brings;
Or is it just merely wise,
To watch for deceit and lies.
All things are lawful for me,
But not expediently;
For not all things would be blessed,
And I might become obsessed.
Allowed to do anything,
But careful to what I cling;
To gain control of my life,
Could be causing me some strife.
Whenever I eat and drink,
I want to take time to think;
And thank the Lord what He gave,
All that my stomach will crave.
But I must not ever trust,
What wants my body may lust;
Because any sexual pleasure,
Is temporary treasure.
For my body belongs to Christ,
And lusts must be sacrificed;
For I am joined with the Lord,
To remain in one accord.
