Working as a Disciple
God told me to spread the Good News,
For His Word follows my values;
I am writing without a hitch,
And far from trying to get rich.
I am humbled not having pride,
For it is the Word I abide;
And I would die rather than brag,
Letting myself to wave a flag.
Bragging are meaningless words,
And that are strictly for the birds;
Like some ravens out in the field,
Wrestling over some of the yield.
If I go spreading the Gospel,
Through my poems to all the people;
I have nothing to brag about,
With no time to complain or shout.
I cannot let it be ignored,
My obligation to the Lord;
Showing others how much I care,
And am willing wanting to share.
For I will still get a reward,
At the next coming of the Lord;
Seeing Him come down in the cloud,
And pulling me up from the crowd.
