Love is not blind
if you are beautiful
or ugly in unseeing eyes
But real love
is found in the twilight
beyond soon vanishing smiles
You find it avoiding lies
That reality cannot hide
For beauty is below the surface
Hidden in the pages of honesty
In questions not asked
The meeting of two minds
For I say may I look in your eyes
And you will tell me no lies
If you can lie and pretend love
Beauty disappears and ugly is unmasked
As we two have removed the shadows
The truth no one has to ask
For it cannot be hidden in a smile
Nor does beauty yet beguile
