Christian RearingIf you just spare the rod, And spoil the child; He will just remain flawed, And later be wild. The rod and a sharp word, Will be giving wisdom; And disciplines when heard, Keeping him from boredom. If you do not proclaim, Showing what is done wrong; He will not feel the shame, Making him weak not strong. Give your child training, So he knows what is right; And knowledge in gaining, Later in life insight. You will have peace of mind, As delight to your soul; Later in life you will find, A man with self control. It will please the Lord too, That you did not neglect; Teaching him the value, Giving God his respect. Copyright © 2009 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
