From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Diamonds Through Coals

Tell me, what is beauty that's true…

She ignited a flame
And watched it burn bright
I did the best I could
Resisted with all my might
Her eyes, brown colored; they had me
Sealed, signed and delivered
Thinking it was a line, she said whatever

I told her I had no time for lies
This is something we all despise
She tasted my lips
And broke out in smiles
Told me she still wasn't convinced
Be wary of the dream
For what comes next is the pinch

Trying to see if any other saw the shine
Just to make her believe while
Trying to make sure I wasn't losing my mind
My heart like her eyes; exhilarated
And yet she can't understand it
Hmmm…Can I explain it
Or should I even try

A myth she considered Greek
Yet in reality she was
Fantasy a thing of the past
For fear it wouldn't last; she sought freedom
Unaware of the kingdom she inherited
My love for her perfected
No wonder I'm so weak

A princess unaware of her new role
Fears she could erase if she trusts me
Powers unlike any I ever possessed
Unfamiliar rhythms in my chest I get
Like Foxx I was tuned into her soul
In Her Eyes, I saw past the disguise
In Her Eyes, I saw Diamonds through Coals
