Of Anger and PrideAn angry man stirs up a fight, Because he cannot see the light; For a hothead always does wrong, As the dark inside running strong. Mainly from the pride deep inside, Causing the humbleness to hide; Making the person to feel grim, As pride will humiliate him. A humble spirit gains respect, When faith is strong it will reject; That boastful pride tries to control, Their entire mind heart and soul. And because of all of the strife, Pride will make him hate his own life; And the longer that it has growth, Less chance to witness under oath. There will be fear that sets a trap, And will not be shown on his map; Because of the personal lust, Since in the Lord he will not trust. Only from driving desire, They are able to acquire; The means to become downcast, And being an evil outcast. Copyright © 2009 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
