Speak not of love...

Speak not of love for I know that love fails you
when you now hold me I feel only your pain
the look in your eyes once so loving and caring
speaks now only of turning away
when we used to make love,
your eyes would pull me in closer
till my trembling heart beat with your heart in rhyme
our legs and arms would become entwined with each other
and the sweat of our love making… like wine
but now when you hold me I feel only your loneliness
and your sad eyes only cry out each night
and if I look into your eyes once so loving and caring
I see only that our love has died
so speak not of the love that once we held onto
for with true love we should not have to try…
far better to accept that not all love is true love
than to live out this love as a lie.
