Ever-Present God
Where shall I go from the Spirit,
How can I get away from God;
Maybe hide under a blanket,
Or even try to go abroad.
If I go up into Heaven,
I know that my Lord will be there;
With a reward to be given,
That I am unworthy to share.
If I would make my bed in hell,
I will be seeing my Father;
In a place I deserve to dwell,
Guarding me from evil thither.
If I climb up the rays of the sun,
Or the inner depths of the sea;
I will not be the only one,
For Jehovah will be with me.
No matter where I might embark,
His hand would still be there to guide,
Whether in the light or in the dark,
He will comfort as I abide.
So I give thanks knowing He cares,
Whatever I do or may go,
Because He so eagerly shares,
All the love and blessings that flow.
