Insomniac

Oh God, I haven't slept a wink she said
Lying beside me in our bed
Then she proceeded to loudly snore
Following that with a louder string more

Rolling sonorously around the room
Condemning me to a waking doom
Some Insomniacs I've heard say
Are really exhausted during the day

Having dreamed of being awake all night
Just a fitful dozing at first morning light
Leaving their bed mates really suffering
Having endured nights of the real thing

Hell is being condemned to a night life
Lying next a soundly sleeping wife
If she only knew what I really think
As she proclaims she's not slept a wink
