The Book of Life
The Lord keeps a record,
As I wander through life;
And times I have ignored,
As well as in my strife.
They are now in His book,
Of the sorrow and pain;
If you could take a look,
When the tears were like rain.
You could see when I prayed,
To make my foes retreat;
Caused them to be dismayed,
And crushed under His feet.
For God is on my side,
And I will praise His Word;
Maintaining to abide,
While my heart is stirred.
For my trust is in God,
Since He already knows;
That I am not a fraud,
Seeing my highs and lows.
I am bound by my vows,
As gentled to His sight;
Doing what God allows,
Remaining His delight.
