Dreaming dreams of a younger man
In my near old man's sleep,
Dredged from memories
A waking mind buries deep;
And the passions and desires
As the dream moves on
Are stirred and shaken
Though capacity near gone.
And the sleep becomes fitful
As the dream needs to break
And the mind jerks the body
Suddenly violently awake.
The remnants of the memory
Jumbled by the dreams assumes
Just a fleetingly disturbing aspect
Before real life resumes.
And the mind and the body
Achieve harmony again at last
And the dreams of a younger man
Fade back into an older man's past.
