Cherishing Wisdom
Listen to your father,
Of what he has to say,
Training takes you farther,
When disciplined each day.
So please pay attention,
That you will understand;
Without an apprehension,
Of all that I demand.
I taught you very well,
Everything I know;
Not to wind up in hell,
But where the blessings glow.
When I was just your age,
My father taught the same;
That you grow with each page,
And life was not a game.
You will gain in knowledge,
That your wisdom will grow;
More than any college,
Ever teach you to know.
Always love the wisdom,
Never to abandon;
It will give you freedom,
Knowing to get it done.
