Caring for His ChildrenEver since I was a boy, The Lord has filled me with joy; He showed an interest in me, On what I could grow to be. He was very interested, But I just went and lusted; For many things of this earth, From whence I was given birth. For I did not see the need, Since I was blinded by greed; And could not be so content, By the Lord and His intent. But I know now how to live, And that the Lord will forgive; So no more do I regret, Since I have learned the secret. No longer am I a fool, Whether hungry or am full; If I may need or may not, Just thankful for what I got. For it is not of my views, But in having the Good News; That Christ has died as a gift, To give me a new faith lift. Copyright © 2010 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
