Ode to Hemingway
From the lost generation he came,
Hemingway was his name.
His moving prose forever
enshrined his fame.
Tales of woe…
Heroes of war,
Blood on the sun,
Toro, Toro, deadly
fun, the ugly bull has
finaly won.
Snows of Kilimanjaro,
Rhinos, elephants,
Dark Africa unfold.
Paris, Madrid,
Havana …
Life in a world
only he could know.
The writer, the poet
Hemingway…
A name that forever
shall last.
In a lost generation he was cast.
For whom the bells toll?
They still toll for…
Ernest Hemingway's prose!
