The Poor Mans Valentines
Lord please let it be that the thoughts really counts
Because there is no funding for love in my bank account
I have no gifts to bring, no fancy dinner plans
No box of chocolates, and no dozen roses in my hand
I can’t afford a romantic get away to some lovers resort
No Limo in the driveway, no plane at the airport
The poor mans Valentines?  like his life is hard
How does he approach her without as much as a simple card
He searches the deepest crevice of his mind
Trying to be creative just one more time
"Next year" he tells himself , that’s when I’ll have the means
To give her the greatest Valentines she’s ever seen
Hoping she will understand, just one more year
Wondering if deep inside she hide her tears
Or could it be that these are the times
Where the poor man has the real Valentines
If true love is celebrated, and he is loved in need
Then it is the poor man who is truly rich in deed
