You saw those that needed food to eat,
but their need you didn't try to meet.
You knew you had a cup of water at least,
but you passed them by on the way to your feast.
You saw a man needing clothes to wear
Although you had some, you wouldn't share.
You knew a prisoner that felt no one cared
You could've gone, but your time couldn't be spared.
The time will come you'll stand before Him
You'll have to account for how you treated them.
What is it you could ever say
that would justify treating His child that way?
How can you love Him and not those He loves?
Those that were left in your care when He went up above.
You were called to be His hands and His feet
And to serve the strangers He needed to meet.
But you were too busy for those He sent.
So He won't recall any time for Him that was spent.
When He comes in His glory to claim His own
He'll look for those in whom His love was shown.
If you are reading this, then it's not too late
to change what you've done, to do it now, and not wait.
Don't be too busy, anymore, not for Him.
He's only served by serving them.
“The King will reply, I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
