Catharsis

There was a living breathing woman
Inside her modern widows' weeds
And although she missed him dearly
She still had her physical needs
Which is why she lies beside me
In this pleasant hotel bed
Sobbing with a guilty passion
As her heart fights her head

And I want to stroke her hair
Maybe squeeze her hand
Try to let her know
Just how much I understand
Talk to her gently
Try to make it clear
Why I can't take advantage
That we both shouldn't be here

I stand in a corner
With turned back
Until dressed in her outfit
With its traces of quiet black
We embrace without passion
Almost like a brother and sister
Until both ready for the world
We leave that room together
