The Good in Guilt
You forgot the hopeful word,
Comes from God that you have heard;
Calling you as His child,
To be tender and mild.
Pay attention to the Lord,
That His Word is not ignored;
And willing to discipline,
When you committed a sin.
Never give up when He would,
It was done for your own good;
And wants you to try again,
Another path than had been.
Discipline helps you for sure,
To persevere and endure;
Just as any father should,
For love that is understood.
We will always show respect,
When the Father will correct;
For discipline to prolong,
The agony when done wrong.
So walk the straight and narrow,
Flying straight as a sparrow;
Staying on the guided path,
As to be spared from the wrath.
