Immortal Bodies
Some of you may wonder why,
On living after we die;
Who wants to come back to life,
Reliving toils and strife.
Since our bodies decay,
Ashes to dust as they lay;
If the body could come back,
So much substance it would lack.
But as the Word does proclaim,
Not all the flesh is the same;
Just as plants start from a seed,
A new body is decreed.
And so without any doubt,
A new one will not wear out;
It will not be filled with sin,
Like this one that we are in.
It will not be the same how,
The mortal body of now;
And not like going to sleep,
But a harvest time to reap.
In an twinkling of an eye,
From where this body will lie;
The Lord will then take control,
In transferring our soul.
