Great grandpa arrived in Lockport 1872
A simple carpenter that no one really knew
He came across the sea from Limerick
Legend has it arrived on shore mighty sick
Decided New York not the place for him
Finding a living was getting mighty grim
So off he went for a place called Oregon
Broke his leg on the ship had to move on
In a place called Issaquah he took up farming
Raised five kids not in those days so alarming
So today Grandson of an Irish farmer wears Irish green
As I hunt for four leave clovers lost hardly seen
But this Irishman today will not be drinking booze
Be seen living sober this day I do choose
So seeing a leprechaun on this day I will miss
Sober I be but this Irishman will not resist a kiss
Sorry drunken Irish brothers only from a lady I insist
