Knowing Shame
I certainly have heard,
When you mourn on the Word,
Crying for discipline,
Because of all your sin.
And I disciplined you,
For helping you get through;
And continue to grow,
Traveling to and fro.
For you were just too young,
Secular songs you had sung;
Each and every day,
That was making you stray.
You were an untrained ox,
That acted like a fox;
Would not put on your yoke,
Thinking it was a joke.
Because of love for you,
Wanting you to construe;
When doing something bad,
Can make you really sad.
That is why my heart longs,
To discipline your wrongs;
And you can feel the shame,
While taking the blame.
