 View: Second Floor Window
the view altered in 365 days,
  coffee shop conversations replaced
by a 'sorry we're closed' sign,
 closed the consequence to
     too much credit given,
the thought of opening requires
  adherence to infinite conditions,

the midnight hour of another decade
  approaches over the illuminated sphere
bringing resolution,
a closed door, closed window, closed soul,
a non-subtle determination of not
    ready to be nice,
scars left from unconditional
  have closed and hardened to
the moho of the body,

the approach of the winter solstice
  brings the cold from all
except angelic youth,
 there all the warmth remains
    forever lit by unconditional love,
time here holds no bounds,
  the doors to all others
can seal in dead bolts and chain locks,
 time has taught the lesson
that only innocence can,

there will be open doors and windows
a warmth without conditions,
  for the one laid gently
down to the sound of the
    harsh wind reverberating against
aged pine panes,
  the view holds now
the promise of self reliance
 and life given for innocence.
