Straight Toward the Goal
Things that once had value,
Are now worthless for sure;
Since Jesus is in view,
He is worth so much more.
It is far more than that,
And cannot be ignored;
For it is a real fact,
Jesus Christ is my Lord.
With Him nothing on earth,
Has been devalued fast;
And are holding no worth,
That could be ever last.
In a relationship,
With Jesus Christ the King;
Gives great companionship,
And blessings it will bring.
But it means I obey,
All of what He has said;
So not to go astray,
Where the darkness would tread.
Forget what is behind,
And run straight toward the goal.
But keep it on my mind,
Of giving Christ my soul.
