The God of Second Chance
Glory is not what I deserve,
Because I do neglect to serve;
Sometimes I do not put God first,
When it is my lust that I thirst.
Instead I do often proclaim,
With giving glory to His name;
For His mercy and faithfulness,
Gives a feeling of gratefulness.
Why should other nations say,
That their own God has gone astray;
And is nowhere near to be found,
Plus never seems to be around.
As everyone has been told,
Their idols are silver and gold;
And have been made with human hands,
Are unable to make demands.
For their gods have ears and eyes,
But no wisdom to make them wise;
They have a mouth but cannot speak,
To respond to what you may seek.
But our God is in Heaven,
From where guidance has been given;
For His wisdom knows in advance,
Willing to give a second chance.
