Voices

She has a voice like honey
That flows down the phone
Bringing us together
Though we're both alone
As we chat away
That intimacy builds
Bringing hopes of
Desires to be filled

I hear her voice break
Hear her breathing quicken
I hear my own voice
Catch and start to thicken
She has a voice that excites
That caresses and teases
She has a voice that
Soothes and pleases

We talk on and on
This old friend of years
One time lover and
Sharer of past tears
Until she says its time and
She puts down the phone
Leaving us much closer
Though we're both still alone
