I watch the second hand move round the clock face
Consistently moving at the same pace,
Tick-tock it clicks every second away
Soon it will be the end of another day.
My here and now goes into the past
And across my heart a shadow is cast,
Each second is but the blink of an eye
This thought I admit makes my sigh.
Every second is my life passing me by
And time is something we just can`t buy,
We have it, we waste it, it goes so fast
And this is the one thing we want to last.
Each second I watch the older I grow
And with each tick my youth does go,
We can`t get it back it comes and it goes
But how much is left only heaven knows.
I`ll not watch the clock I`m wasting my time
For at any stage of life this is a crime,
For I never know when I`ll run out of time
But I do know for sure it`ll happen sometime.
