I drove on the highway
A quarter a mile up the road
I saw the bubble top slowed down
I turned to my friends
I didn't live in the area,
On came the reds and blues
Two cars behind moved to the side
And I was pulled to the side of the road
First time in eighteen years
I said, "What is the speed limit?"
Friend said, "I think forty five here."
I am going forty six. I was just building speed
This kid didn't look more than fifteen,
"Sir, your drivers license please."
I'm thinking forty six in a forty five?
"Do you realize the speed limit is fifty five?
"No sir, we thought the limit was forty five
He was giving me a ticket for driving too slow
That is when you know you are getting old
I promised to drive faster
I was at seventy five when my friend said,
"Dandy, I think this is a forty mile zone,"
I had promised the kids I would drive faster
