"My friend across the street
told me to hold this sign!"
Last week they were at a garage sale
Paying two dollars for a man's old
military uniforms then holding sign,
"I served my country for you
the least you can do is help me!"
Being an actual veteran I find this troublesome
I had time at the light so I wrote:
"Not amused by complete imbeciles.
If he was a friend he would have told
you to get off the booze and drugs
and find a sign that read employment offered!"
Two weeks ago they held a sign,
"I won't lie to you I need money for beer!"
I am not cold but not stupid either.
I have often been asked, "What would you
do if you won the lottery?" Answer thought out,
The younger of my family would have free education
I am not into removing Aids in the world
A good cause but Bill Gates can take care of that
I think everyone who really wants one should have a job
So if you see me not mowing my lawn
I won the lottery and am not really lazy
I have two friends who are still working at seventy
They were always hard workers just picked wrong line of work
They would not have to work at this age to survive
Family that lived hard and lost their homes
Because of drugs and self defeating life styles
Read the sign, "It is time to find work!"
I am at the casino spending the rest of my retirement
I give to those who help themselves and pay bills
