For Your Sake
All things are lawful for me,
Everything that I see;
So I can do anything,
To whatever I may cling.
But not all the things are good,
For doing to what I should;
And are not expedient,
If to stay obedient.
If I let something control,
It could take over my soul;
Causing me torment and strife,
As it takes over my life.
God provides me food to eat,
All of the fruit and the meat;
But God can take it away,
If I start going astray.
The body is for the Lord,
And needs to be one accord;
But with any sexual sin,
No room for the Lord within.
By God the Lord had been raised,
And for that God should be praised;
To do as morally right,
Not with a harlot all night.
