Immemorial: Last week we attended a high school graduation
Eight years ago Staci died on 8-21-02. Mom I am sure was there
to see her son graduate. She died in a horrible, horrific automobile
accident. Actually a driver committing suicide crossed the road at
high speed and hit the motor home full force. Both vehicles instantly
in flames. Mom and children in the car following. This poem was
written in mind as I attended her burial and her children, yes, then
just children, released balloons in the blue skies
To Soar
To Seek
Embrace the sky
Alas
No wings have I
Her walk so gentle
Yet aloft
As a bird on it's maiden flight
Her voice
So Soft
A mere whisper
In the night
No more beautiful woman
I must say
Than she as beautiful
Coming towards
As when Jesus took her away
There is some poetic license being the author
This poem has been published with the ending
"When she went her way" I was asked permission
In Hawaii to make this poem into a song. I have
no idea if it was done. If you are at the big
Island and hear it sung let me know. Added to
this story. The reason for the motor home the
family was driving to Canada to watch dad compete
in a triathlon meet. Mom did not fly so neither did
Staci and her children. Son is graduating with a
his Dad's talent at swimming. With a scholarship
in college as a swimmer and diver. At his age the
top Triathlon times his age level. Mom must be proud
