first love

when she asked me to the dance;
i went into an instant trance;
i did'nt know what to say or what to do:
you know i was so nervous too:

i told her i don't know if i could:
she asked me again if i would:
i told her then that i guess i'd go:
and i'd try to dance if it was slow:

she smiled and said that she would give me a call:
and i guess that was about it all:
as i walked home from the school that day:
i thought of every word i heard her say:

i felt so funny and nervous inside;
as i thought to myself if she was gonna be my bride;
she was really the first girl that i ever did date:
i think i was in a love sick state:

i didnt know what to do or what to feel:
or if her love for me was even real:
the fact of the matter came to be:
she only needed a date for the dance and choose me:

but for me my love grew more for her every day:
when i saw her i didnt even know what to say:
it would take me an hour for the courage just to call:
then when she answered i wouldnt know what to say and i'd stall:

i gave her an owl that i made out of clay:
it was my masterpiece of the day:
i fell in love with her so deep:
and i remember it made me weep:

the sweet perfume that she wore at the dance:
it put me into an instant trance:
she looked so beautiful in her gown:
i was the proudest boy in the town:

after the dance i just took her home:
then again i was all alone:
she only wanted me to take her to the dance:
but i fell in love that very first glance:

i followed her around when we were at school:
i guess that i was the fool:
one day i finally told her straight:
that all she wanted was one lousy date:

i told her i was sorry for always following her:
and i said it wont happen again for sure:
my best friend tod said these words to me:
if its meant to be than it will be:

louise was the first love that i ever had:
and god knows i really felt so sad:
your first love always has a place in your heart:
for the rest of your life memories never part:
