"If God. . ."
If God sent a letter to everyone, in this world
I can't help wonder, what He's have to say
We know, He's not a respecter, of persons
So with "Titles" He'd probably, do away
I suppose, He would address us, as a whole
Not pointing a finger, at any particular one
I know, His words would reach our soul
We'd feel conviction, for what we have done
This beautiful earth, He made to enjoy
Is running off course, splitting at the seams
With oil in the waters, and no cure to employ
Would He direct the . . . "Disaster Teams "
Would He mention the wars, and the killings
And, the diseases, running rampant everywhere
Or the way we don't consider others feelings
Would he mention, again, how to love and care
Would He tell, how some have fallen away
Never giving Him, a thought or a prayer . . .
Not in condemnation, but as sheep gone astray
Would He mention too, how He's always there
I wonder if His words, would cover the greed
Or the people, with a sin-sick soul . . .
Would He point at the ones, who come only in need
Ones, He'd blessed with wisdom, yet acted a fool
Would His letter be full of . . .Understanding
Showing His compassion for "humans" everyone
I believe His words would be gentle, not commanding
With wanting appreciation, for all He has done
He might even talk about, the day He'll return
Telling us again, to keep our lights shining bright
Will he tell the "Church" He knows how they yearn
For His presence, every day and every night . . .
Well, in essence, He's already sent us "His Word"
Its called "The Bible" full of wisdom, and love
And it's the "Good News" in case you haven't heard
Sent from Father, Son and Holy Ghost, above!
