The State of Gladness
God is my hiding place,
While shedding His grace;
Protects from each trial,
And things that defile.
He surrounds me with song,
Throughout all the daylong;
Of joyous salvation,
Causing jubilation.
He instructs me the way,
So I not go astray;
And teaching me to see,
Which is the best for me.
He is my ears and eyes,
With thoughts making me wise;
By letting Him abide,
God pushes away pride.
Many heartaches await,
But I evaluate;
As His mercy surrounds,
With a trust that astounds.
I find joy and am glad,
Not having to be sad;
Knowing that I do right,
Remaining in the light.
