REMEMBERING

WHEN YOU ARE OLDER THAN OLD:
YOU WILL REMEMBER YOUR HAPPIEST YIMES AND STORIES WILL BE TOLD:
YOU WILL REMEMBER AS A KID HOW YOU STARTED SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER:
YOU REMEMBER THANKSGIVING AT HOME IN NOVEMBER:

AS A KID HALOWEEN WAS A PRETTY GOOD DEAL:
WHEN SO MUCH CANDY YOU GOT FREE GOING TO STRANGERS HOUSES DOOR TO DOOR WHAT A STEAL:
THE SEASONS IN MINNESOTA CHANGE AND OLD MAN WINTER CAME SOON:
AS A KID YOU REMEMBER YOUR HAPPIEST TIMES WHEN FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY YA GOTTA BALOON:

YOU REMEMBER ALL YOUR OLD NEIGHBORS FAMILY AND YOUR BEST FRIEND:
YOU REMEMBER ALL THE SPECIAL MOMENTS OF WAY BACK THEN:
CHRISTMAS TIME YOU WOULD WRITE TO SANTA YOUR HOPE LIST:
THEN YOU PRAYED EVERY NIGHT THAT SANTA WOULD GRANT YOUR WISH:

IN MINNESOTA YOU WOULD RISE TO EVERY SEASON:
ICE SKATING PLAYING HOCKEY SLEDING SNOW BALL FIGHTS YOU HAD YOUR FUN:
WHEN THE WEATHER GOT NICE:
AS A KID YOU ONLY HAD ONE VICE:

YOU COULDNT WAIT TO PLAY OUTSIDE :
TO BE OUT IN NATURE FREE AND WILD:
THE HARDEST TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL WAS WHEN SPRING CAME KNOCKING ON THE DOOR:
ON A BEAUTIFUL SPRING SUNNY DAY YOU DIDNT WANT TO BE IN SCHOOL ANY MORE:

AFTER BEING COOPED UP INSIDE ALL WINTER LONG:
OUT IN THE FRESH SPRING WEATHER PLAYING IN THE SUN IS WHERE A KID BELONGED:
IN SUMMER WE PLAYED OUTSIDE SUN UP TO SUN DOWN:
OUR OWN FUN AND ADVENTURE WE FOUND:

WE WOULD RIDE OUR BIKES ALL THE WAY TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER ON THE WISCONSIN DSIDE TO SWIM:
EVERY GAME WE WOULD PLAY WE PLAYED TO WIN:
WE WOULD CATCH TURTLES AND FROGS DRAGON FLYS AND BUTTERRFLYS CHIPMUNKS PIGEONS AND EVEN BEES:
WE WOULD JUST HAVE TO CLIMB THE TALLEST TREE:

WE PLAYED TAG AND DITCH SOFTBALL AND FOOTBALL AND EVERY SPORT WITH A PASSION TO WIN:
AS A KID IN SMALL TOWN MINNESOTA OUR ONLY RULE WAS WHEN IT GETS DARK AT OUR HOUSE YOU BETTER BE IN:
WHEN YOU BECOME OLDER THAN OLD TOU WILL REMEMBER ALL THE THINGS YOU TOOK FOR GRANTED GROWING UP AS A BOY:
YOU WILL SMILE AND RECALL YOUR EVERY JOY:

I CAN NEVER FORGET THE CARNIVAL WHEN IT CAME TO TOWN:
THAT WAS THE BIGGEST EXCITEMENT EVERY SUMMER THAT WE FOUND:
WE WOULD BE DOWN BY THE LEVEE WHEN ALL THE CARNY TRUCKS PULLED IN:
WE EXCITEDLY WATCHED THEM ALL LINE UP AND COULDNT WAIT FOR THEM TO SET UP ALL THE STUFF AND BEGIN:

THE CARNIVAL WAS OUR GREATEST FUN:
ALL THE BIGGEST STUFFED ANIMALS AT THE CARNY GAMES WE HOPED WE WON:
THE CARNY STAYED IN TOWN ABOUT A WEEK:
AS A KID FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES WE HAD TO KEEP:

WHEN YOU GET OLDER THAN OLD YOU REMEMBER EVERYTHING :
THE HAPPIEST MEMORIES GROWING UP AS A KID BACK TO YOURSELF YOU BRING:
ALL YOU PARENTS THAT HAVE KIDS TODAY:
MAKE HAPPY MEMORIES FOR THEM FOR A LIFE TIME TO STAY:
