Keeper Of The Flame
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

Far inside a darkened night my fantasies take sudden flight,
Traveling at the speed of light to a world wrapped in lace;
Jenny's favorite place, her whirling vortex of delight,
And with my inner sight, I admire her smiling face...

If all my life were but a dream this is where I would be.
Jenny holds out her hand to me, soft her touch, and warm
In my encapsulated fantasy on the delicate edge of ecstacy,
As, in every dream of Jenny, I hold her in my loving arms....

In the twilight, tattered streams of convoluted dreams,
In the maelstrom of delight found only in deepest night,
Hidden world of sheer negligee and fragrances and creams;
The world I left behind, far away, disappearing out of sight.....

All that's left are technicolor dreams, stripped of reality;
Sights and sounds and things that rustle in the night.
Throwing aside all encumbrances required by society,
We make our own rules, whether things are dark or bright....

...Thoughts are fragile things, sudden interstellar dreams
Racing for some unknown place on the other side of space...
Flowing down sylvan streams where sparkling starlight gleams
Looking for that special world where life and love embrace.....
