Like a thoughtful thief comes the sunrise
erasing the night, bidding life to appear.
Light ascends, dim to bright and remains
as earth applauds celebrating the premier.
The noon sun insists upon its stance,
keeping its obstinate rendezvous with time,
and new life honors the faithful source
affirming its dependence on this lifeline.
All nature worships in gentle warmth
embracing the grand privilege of being,
and frolics in afternoon showers
as obedience and bliss augment meaning.
God, The Supreme Consummate Artist
splashes rainbows in vibrant arcs of brilliance
against a spirited blue backdrop,
yielding to tenacious beams of radiance.
Darkness absorbs the day and earth rests.
Stars sequin the night, a fair moon center stage.
The dull stillness chants a lullaby
to honor the beauty of another day.
But, in his pride man ignored this day,
rapt in his self-absorbed pleasures, schemes and whims,
failing to acknowledge simple gifts
from a loving Sovereign Christ who died for him.
Psalm 19:1-6 [NLT]
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
