There was once a fair and lovely maiden
whose countenance was sunny and bright
though she was locked in the tower day
and night.
Her blue eyes were like sparkling diamonds
and her lips like shimmering pink coral
with soft alabaster skin and long golden hair
forming a halo around her angelic head.
The fair maiden was covered head to toe in
brilliant red velvet, pearls graced her pale white
throat and she had tiny silver shoes upon her feet.
She looked ever so beautiful and sweet standing
stoicly before the arched windows of her stony prison.
I fell in love with her that first day I saw her there,
and plotted a way to make her mine for all time, but alas
there was nothing that I couold do but admire her from afar.
For whenever I tried to climb those stony walls and take her
away from here she faded away like mist into the dark chamber
of her ancient castle home.
