WAR by Atheána - ode to the war in the Ukraine
War breeds madness
madness breeds war
War creates sadness
when lives are no more
War breeds greed
greed breeds war
War creates need
need creates poor
War leads to bombs
bombs destroy all
War tears limbs
from bodies once whole
War embraces death
its purpose always the same
Maximum and total destruction
annihilation and obliteration
Across the killing fields
shells rain down hard
Destroying all in their path
leaving a blood soaked earth
War spares nothing
neither buildings nor life
The beast that consumes all
nature and animals alike
And suffer they will do
until destruction is complete
Leaving the many and the few
to never again meet
War bears witness
to how low a person will sink
To murder and to maim
without a second think
Wars declared and decided
by morons united
Sitting behind desks they hide
not giving a damn who lives, who dies
Before war, families once tight
after war, broken and bereft
War decides not who is right
but by those not killed, who is left.
War means loss
loss ends war
War doesn't give a toss
for who lives no more.
